All settled in. And can I say, it's been raining non-stop. I don't mind rain, but there comes a time when its just too much. I'd much rather have the snow right now.. but without the cold. But after all that rain, today is the first day, that its nice and sunny outside. Actualy quite beautiful. Nice to be out from all the cold. Since I've been here I haven't worn a jacket yet. BUT I still want snow. I prayed long and hard for it to come to Toronto and it finally came (only 4 days before I moved I might add). So think it will work for here? They might not like it too much considering they've had more than Toronto so far this year. (unless you guys have gotten another snow storm since I left.)

Anyways. Things are good here. Job hunting. I haven't quite decided what I want to do here yet. There's a job opening up working with teen boys going through drug rehab. I'm hoping to get in there, so pray for that. But if that doesn't go through, pray that I find something else that I'll enjoy doing! I hate looking for work!

On the flip side, its been nice to just relax. Sit around the house and get things orgaized. Yet, I'm really bored. I feel like I'm contradicting myself here, but who's watching.

Anyways. I'm off.

It's almost time!

So I've realized I haven't blogged in ages! The past 3 years being here, have been amazing. And without you, I don't know where I would have ended up. You guys have supported me in every way (even though sometimes I was stubborn, and my decisions were stupid). All of you have tested me, challenged me, and pushed me into boundaries that I wouldn't have gone to myself.

To all of you, I say that I love you all. Sometimes, it being a word or phrase. And then contemplating on the word and see what God is telling you through this. So it’s a time for reading, listening, and responding). So moving on, Dave read a passage from Luke 5: 1-11, which is the ‘Calling of the First Disciples’. (find the scripture passage below) The phrase that stuck out for me, was ‘because you say so’. After listening to what God was trying to tell me, it because very obvious, that I sometimes have trouble being able to do things… because He said so. I mean, I know he’s telling me, and I know its right. But I think at times, we all turn our ear, and try to believe it isn’t so. And sometimes I think, does He really want me to do that? Does he really want me to go there? And most importantly… Does he really want me to go outside my boundaries? There’s only one answer for all of this… YES! And all of you are thinking…well dude, of course. That’s obvious. Of course it’s obvious, but how many of you apply it? Ask yourself, has God ever told me to do something that seemed totally whack, so you just said, nah. I’ll do it later, but never do it. Or heaven bid, you just blatantly said No, that’s not me.
I’ll be first to admit, I have said no to God. I’ve said no to doing something God wanted me to do. I’ve said no to talking to someone God placed on my heart to minister to.
So here’s my proposal. If God says to do something… DO IT! Cause there’s a reason as to why he’s placed it on your heart. And it may seem crazy, totally whack and outside your boundaries, but as Christians, were called to do things outside our pretty box. So suck it up!
So here am I standing, as I say, I’m going to suck it up, and step out, and go where God leads me. Where that is? I’m not sure yet… but he’s given me an idea. Not somewhere I was actually expecting to go, but if its His will, I will go! And I’m kinda actually really excited about the idea now!

So in conclusion… suck it up you warriors. Press on… Push forward… and do God’s will… cause frankly… your will isn’t going to cut it!

Luke 5: 1-11
The Calling of the First Disciples

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the people crowding around him and listening to the word of God, he saw at the water's edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch."

Simon answered, "Master, we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets."

When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus' knees and said, "Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!" For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon's partners.

Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men." So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

Chocolate Frog Legs!

sup? all you crazy guys and gals.

so I haven't updated in a while, so I thought I'd give'er another go.

Some of you ask, so what's new Tim?

Not a whole lot really. Its been a slow week.

But to share a few, here's a list of stuff I've done this past few days

-I enjoyed the Promise Keepers weekend this past Fri/Sat. Surprisingly it was alright. I've never been one for those things but it seemed to be alright.
-had a bday party for Johnny (one of the kids in our community)
-went to a concert at Bloor Central where Greg performed.
-hung out with the igniters... an awfully lot this weekend! lol. including, the concert at Bloor... chilling till wee hours sunday night... going grocery shopping with Steph and Grace this morning... then hanging back at their house for a while longer... then probably doing something tonight... At times I feel like I could be the 4th wanna-be igniter... but I'm not...
-sunday night we watched Oceans 11 and ate brownies for their 2nd B&B night (this time it was Brad Pit and Brownies)
-and all the other Sunday activites that happen

I think thats all that happened the past few days. I begin by waking up at 8:30, to get up, get showered, get dressed (in somewhat half decent wear, and at times my uni.), and then be out the door by 9ish. At that time I catch the TTC (public transit), for the hour long journey to Yorkwoods (my job... where I also have to attend sunday morning meetings). So I arrive at Yorkwoods at 10ish... 1030 if the subway is dreadfully slow. Get things in order for sunday school. Get the 'sanctuary' in working order and making sure sound is working. Oh, and then today, consited of calling the cops, because someone decided to use our back lawn as their personal parking spot. So I had to wait around for them to show up, and then sign off on that. So its 12:50pm, and I'm now leaving Yorkwoods to head back downtown to make it for Discipleship Class (Soldier's Class) at 2. So I arrive just in time for it to start, and we get out of there at 3:30. Only once again to head out to the community centre for 614, to start setting up! It takes about an hour to get everything unloaded from the van, chairs, and everything setup in the room. But today, Kim decides to drive a few of us cause we were all left behind at the office. So we all barrel down to her car, and were standing around, and I think I'll make my way to shotgun before anyone calls it. Of course, Steph must have called it (of course, i still stand by NOT hearing it) and she made it there before me. Ugh! And then... the other girls, Grace and Sherry, decide to get in from the other side and go over so I then have to walk all the way back around to the other side of the car to get in. (not that it was really a whole long walk... literally took me 5 steps, but it was just gah!) So were in the car, and they're all making fun of me. Someone mentioned stoning me, and then Steph (or maybe it was Grace), said something about revoking my invitation for the party tonight (which I'll explain later). So we get to the centre, by this time, they've unloaded the van so we just need to set up. So that gets done, the service goes on, and Fiona spoke.. very good by the way. and we finish up. By time 6pm rolls around, were just ending the service, and making our way for fellowship meal. Which I usually get pushed and shoved into the back of the line until someone nice lets me in. hahaha. So today, I get my food, go start to eat, and Kim took my plate. Not that I really cared but that just meant going back into line, only to once again be stuck with people pushing and shoving (cough cough) and then getting yelled at cause I was back for seconds (which I wasn't, was actually just getting a plate for myself cause my original was taken). So I get that. Go eat. And thats all nice and dandy. Today was Shephards Pie. So we load up the van, and get over to the office to unload. 7:30 rolls around and were all just kicking around upstairs in the office waiting for people to get ready to head over to the ignite house... (the igniters decided to put on this B&B night... a boys band and board game night). So fine, we all head over there, and it takes like another 30 min before we even get started on something. So Steph, explains to us how to play this lunch box game, and what entertaining, but I have to say, I suck at games... and it showed. My team mates weren't too impressed with our almost loss. Actually only one person was, who I won't say who it was. ... Ok. So we do this game (and really, it was fun, but the other team kicked our butt). So moving on, 8:45 rolls around and I say I need to head out. So I say my goodbyes and take off. And oh, the night doesn't end there. I'm off to go watch a movie with the guys (Curt, Matt, Rob, Geoff and I), went to catch a late night movie. The movie... Borat. That movie was probably one of the funniest and disturbing movies I have ever seen. I only urge you to see it if you can handle movies which are WAY over boundaries. Funny as ever, but WOW! And thats all I'll say about that. So I get home around 12:30am (its now Monday) and we turn on Family Guy to just zone out. And its now 1:30am, and I'm online... typing a blog. Mostly cause I'm still trying to catch my breath from laughing so hard. But I do have work in the morning. Geez, I have to be up at like 10 tomorrow morning. I hate that!
Well thats all for now. I just thought I would show you all how great my day of rest is! I know this is really long, and I've probably made a million mistakes, but I'm tired and need REST!
I really do love this life... it keeps me busy and occupied!

what if... what if... I were somewhere else

ok, so I thought I should put up a real blog... yet... oh whatever.

So the past two days I've been going through this 'I should redesign every website I'm contracted under' phase. So in the past two days, I've redesigned 4 websites. Now I don't know why I've done this. Some of them were pretty good to begin with (except for the Ignite one which I despised). But maybe its change, cause change is good.
I'm one for change. I like change. Not just cause its something new, but becuase... well ya, its something new. I've been thinking a lot about change. Thinking to myself... "what if I were doing this. What if I wasn't. What if I was with someone. What if I lived somewhere else." And really, I guess I realized it wouldn't be all that bad. I love my life. I love my job. I love my roommates. I love my city. I love my country. But change is good. Its a fresh start. It's a chance to start something new. So where does that leave me? Am I to drop what I'm doing right this minute? Nah. For pete's sake, I love who I am now. But hey, in time, things will change. And its reality we all have to accept it. Who knows where I'll be in a years time. Do you? (Cause really if you have any idea or suggestions, do let me know!) But if we all rely on God, and He tells us to do something, that's when we face the 'drop whatever your doing, and do what He asks' thing.
So I think... will I really be ready to drop what I'm doing to do what God wants me to do when He askes... even though I love change?
Makes me wonder...

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://timfraser.blogspot.com/2006/11/what-if-what-if-i-were-somewhere-else.html' title='what if... what if...
